One last review Perhaps!

Before I start some new adventures on these pages I thought that I  would take the time to share one last review.

The Sword of Wisimir and The dragon of Wisimir my a friend of mine. Allen Stroud http://www.allenstroud.com/ is a talented writer i've had the pleasure of knowing for some years finally seeing his work on digital release as been a experience to share with him.

You can see my and others honest reviews here The Sword of Wisimir (The Wisimir Tales)
And his work is honestly and without bias worth the read.

One last crazy journey?

Borrowed From http://writerssherpablog.com/
This blog was a start of something that never took off, a venture into a career in story telling.. something I have always enjoyed, through some of the less conventional mediums...

I have on two occasions published Cartoon artwork on a professional bases, never with long runs or great fanfare but still it is something I have accomplished.

I have told stories through Role play to wide spread audiences and over the years to both convention based and private groups of table top players. I have told stories through the development of history and  plot for live action events of various genres managing and producing story lines that engaged thousands of players over a number of years.

I have told stories around fires, and in company for fun and entertainment, both as a teen and in adult life.

And i have read and heard stories my whole life, enjoying the telling as much as the listening and learning to be found.

That lead me to this blog, an idea for characterised story telling, a business idea to entertain and educate in equal measures. It never took of, i never pushed on with it.

So this leaves me with a blog that has had some traffic, and where I have left some thoughts. But now what to do with it? well thats the one last crazy journey.

Once Upon A Time...

Once upon a time I posted about stories and my thoughts on books, writers and stories interweave with Life.
Then the life I spoke of over ran me. So i've spent some time thinking to close this down, deciding instead to try actually write some new parts to my story.

Life of a Story

I have been away a while, this blog as been neglected as so many of my interests in the world. But the stories don't go neglected or do they?
This post is not what you think or maybe it is, its not another summation of the structure of a story.  It is a question about the life or more the living presence of a story.

There are so many Stories in so many formats based around the idea of stories having life, or characters becoming part of a story.

It's an interesting thought, it leads to many stories you can find your self actively writing the story in your head, the parts you can step into easily, the parts that easily slip from the story to our world. How many dreams have encompassed this crossing of worlds.

Ink Heart brings the book characters into the world, 10th kingdom allows both worlds to meet, the box of delights allows a Punch and Judy mans tales to come to life. All of these are examples of the kind of thing I'm on about.

They are examples of the story breeding more stories, some times related , some times effected by and some times as far removed as possible from the original content. So do stories have feelings? Or do we just imagine they do, attribute them with feelings and wants. In our own way giving the stories life when even untold, unread and no longer loved.
I find this train of thought  brings its own story, many paths, many endings and I feel I will leave it there, leave it of ryour mind to write the end, the story of your own.

Story Telling Inspiration

Inspiration is drawn from many sources.

It is also fickle for some inspiration is only found in a few sources, times, locations and conditions. While for others it is found any where, almost at random. a Light, a site or place, a place a sound can all inspire at one time or another mixed together or as individual events.

Some times inspiration is literally around a corner an other times it is nowhere to be found. On occasion i have found the writers block book to be a good companion, to kick start my stalled inspiration.

It's not just inspiration to write, its inspiration to read, and tell stories that I lose. Some days a book can be too much while a series of short stories is manageable. Some days a few words will be saved while others whole tomes can be written. I have found this little book to be invaluable not only on the hard days but also on the good days where a little extra is needed.
